Drawing on various influences including Brad Mehldau, Pat Metheny, Radiohead, Miles Davis, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Pink Floyd, the group play contemporary music in a dynamic and subtle way, with interplay, improvisation and energy. All original compositions, from recently recorded debut album Open Spaces, to be released in the spring.
The band features virtuosic and exciting Australian Saxophonist Brandon Allen.
Chris Allard has performed at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Edinburgh Festival, Nuremberg festival, Brecon Jazz Festival, Cannes and Montreux Jazz Festivals, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, and many other venues in the UK, around Europe and the world.
He has performed with Jacqui Dankworth, Dave O Higgins, John Helliwell (Supertramp), Julian Joseph, Cleo Laine, Mark Heart (Crowded House), Gwyneth Herbert, Jamie Cullum, the BBC Concert Orchestra, Carleen Anderson (James Brown), amongst others.
